The S-Boat-Force of the Kriegsmarine were operating focal points of the 2. Worldwar.The crews fought ready to sacrifice until the last day of the war. The extraordinary braveness was honored by the award of 22 Knight's Crosses of the Iron Cross. The Oak Leaves of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to nine officers.
