People's Navy (Volksmarine) 1956 - 1990
Missile-S-Boat
(Raketenschnellboot) "OSA I" (Projekt 205) Since 1960 the
preparations for the procurement of the Soviet boats of the OSA I-Classe
were undertaken. 1962 the first two boats were
handed over in Peenemünde-Nordhafen. 10 more boats were delivered
until end 1965. The boats
Boote were integrated into the newly formed RS-Brigade (Missile-S-Boat
Brigade) with the 1., 3., and 5. RS-Abteilung )Missile-S-Boat-Division) of

In the early 80ies the first three boats were broken up due to material aging. The official decommissioning of all boats of the class was performed on 3.10.1990. The boats were laid up in Peenemünde Nordhafen. Five boats were sold to Estuvia, three to Latvia, and three to Lithuavia, one boat was broken up.
