Specials Originally foreseen as mothership for the Chinese navy. Bought 1938 for the German Kriegsmarine as S-boat-tender for the 2.S-Flotilla. On 1.3.41 "Tanga" served the newly formed 6.S-Flotilla. On 15.10.41 the ship was assigned to the new Admiral Nordmeer. "Tanga" served him until October 1942 as Staff-Ship. Thereafter operational for a S-Boat-School-Flotilla. 1943 tender for S-Boat-Trainingdivision. From January 1945 tender for the newly formed 11. S-Flotilla.
